Winter Time

We have had some extreme weather so far this winter. Everything from beautiful snowfall to harsh freezing cold winds that whipped up the snow and created huge drifts. We have stayed in good spirits and have taken every chance we could to enjoy the winter conditions.
On one particular morning Melissa took these pictures. The frost was so heavy on the trees that they appeared to be painted white. It was quite the sight to see.

Andrea and Brooklyn love being outside (when it isn't too cold). We spent a few hours one day and built a huge snow cave in a drift by the barn. They had so much fun watching daddy carve the cave bigger and bigger. We built it to the point that we could probably fit 5-6 adults comfortably. The girls were saddened when the winter conditions got so harsh the next day that it caused the cave to slowly sink until it was gone completly.
Trevor enjoys plowing the driveway with the four wheeler and will be outside plowing with the littlest amounts of snow. In fact right now as the snow has started falling again he will be out there shortly.
Winter time is an enjoyable time of the year as our family enjoys sledding at Grandma and Grandpa Wood's house, plowing the driveway, cross country skiing, snowball fights, or just plain playing in the snow. Sorry we don't have the greatest pictures, but we never think of the camera until after the moment is over. Hopefully this blog will encourage us to take more pictures.
